ISMC Weight Chart

The Indian Standard Medium Channel (ISMC) is a weight chart that is used in India to figure out how much different steel products weigh. The width, height, and length of the products are used to figure out how much they weigh. Manufacturers use this weight chart to set the prices of their goods, and customers use it to compare the prices of different goods ISMC weight chart is an important tool for both people who make steel in India and people who buy it.

Importance of using the ISMC Weight Chart

When looking for steel beams, it is important to use the ISMC Weight Chart for many reasons. The most important reason is that this chart tells you exactly how much different-sized steel beams weigh. This means that you can be sure you are ordering the right size beam for your project.

The ISMC Weight Chart can also help you save money on your project, which is another reason to use it. If you know how much the beam you need will weigh, you can often get a better deal if you order a larger beam and then cut it down to the size you need. If you were to buy a custom-sized beam, this can save you a lot of money.

The ISMC Weight Chart is also a good way to compare the weight of different kinds of steel beams. By knowing how much different types and sizes of beams weigh, you can be sure to get the strongest beam for your project. This can be very important in some situations where strength is the most important thing.

Lastly, the ISMC Weight Chart makes it easy to figure out what steel beams are. When you look at an abeam in a store or online, it can be hard to figure out exactly how big and heavy it is. But if you look at the chart, you can find the beam you need quickly and easily based on its size and weight. This can help you find steel beams faster and with less trouble.

How to use the ISMC Weight Chart

The ISMC Weight Chart is a tool that Indian steelmakers use to figure out how much different steel products weigh. The chart is based on the ISMC standard, which says what steel products should look like and how much they should weigh.

To use the ISMC Weight Chart, just use the drop-down menu to choose the product whose weight you want to figure out. Enter the size of the product and click “Calculate Weight” to find out how much it weighs. It will show the weight in kilograms.

You can also look at the chart by product category if you don’t know the size of a product. Just choose the category from the drop-down menu and then the product from the list. For that product, the size and weight will be shown.

What are the benefits of using the ISMC Weight Chart?

When looking to buy steel beams, using the ISMC Weight Chart is helpful in many ways. First of all, this chart will make it easier for you to find the right size and weight of Indian Standard Medium Channel (ISMC) steel beams for your building project. Second, using this chart lets you get a better idea of how much all the materials for your project will cost. Lastly, the ISMC Weight Chart is a handy way to look up information for future projects.

How to figure out how much the mild steel channel weighs

Mild steel channels are U-shaped steel structures whose size and thickness can be used to describe them. Mild steel channels are made up of two parts: the bottom flange and the top web. The flange is the bottom, horizontal part, and the web is the top, vertical part.

It doesn’t have equal-length sides. For example, a Mild Steel channel is 5 mm thick and has sides that are 100 mm wide and 50 mm wide.

MS channel size

We know that an MS channel is made up of a flange and a web. It also comes in different sizes, from 75404.8 mm to 4001008.8 mm.

The MS channel’s weight is measured in kilograms per meter or kilograms per foot. Obviously, dimensions with a higher value will have a higher weight value, while dimensions with a lower value will have a lower weight value.

For example, the size of an MS channel is 100×50×5 mm.

Mild Steel Channel Unit Weight

The unit weight of an MS channel is found by using the formula weight = volume density. The density of steel is 7850 kg/m3, and the volume is found by multiplying the web height by the flange width by the thickness.

Mild Steel Channel Weight in kg per Meter

MS Web Volume

MS Channel Size = 100×50×5 mm

Web Depth = 100 mm =0.1m

Web Thickness = 5 mm=0.005 m

Web Length = 1 m

Volume = l×b×h

Volume = 0.1×0.005×1 m3

Web Volume = 0.0005 m3

  • Two flange Volume

MS Channel Size = 100×50×5 mm

Flange Width = 50_5 mm =45mm=0.045 m

Flange Thickness = 5 mm=0.005 m

Flange Length = 1 m

Volume = l×b×h

Volume = 0.045×0.005×1 m3

Flange Volume = 0.000225 m3

Two Flange Volume = 0.000225×2 m3

Two Flange Volume of = 0.000450 m3

MS channel Total volume

Total volume = volume of flange+ volume of web

Total volume = 0.000450 +0.0005 m3

Total volume =0.000950m3

4) Weight of MS channel

Weight = volume× density

Volume = 0.000950 m3

Density of steel = 7850 kg/m3

Weight = 0.000950m3×7850 kg/m3

Weight of MS channel = 7.45 kg/m

Ans: MS channel unit weight will be 7.45 kg

Conclusion

The Indian Standard Medium Channel (ISMC) Weight chart is a great way to find out how much different steel products weigh. This chart shows the weights of ISMCs of different sizes, so they can be used for many different things. This chart is especially helpful for those in the construction industry, as it can help them determine how much steel they need for their projects.
